Dr. Caputo obtained her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Emmanuel College and a Masters of Arts degree in biochemistry from Mount Holyoke College prior to attending medical school. She graduated from UMASS Medical School and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. She is board certified in Internal Medicine. After completing residency, she began a private primary care medical practice in Manchester, CT known as Manchester Medical Associates. Dr. Caputo practiced for 32 years before joining the ECHN Family Residency Program in 2013. In 2014, she became Medical Director of the Malta House of Care Medical Clinic after volunteering with them since 2006. This organization provides free medical care to the uninsured of the Greater Hartford Area. During her seven years as Medical Director, she remained a community medicine preceptor for the ECHN program. She officially retired in 2021 but remained interested in teaching residents so she became a per-diem preceptor for the ECHN Family Medicine Residency, now known as the UConn Family Medicine Residency at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Dr. Caputo now lives in Vermont where she is also a per-diem preceptor for the Dartmouth Hitchcock Internal Medicine Residency program. Her outside interests include reading, cross stitching and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
