Dr Alexandra Zacchera began her medical career working as an EMT and helping teach EMT courses while obtaining her undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut. She attended medical school at University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and spent a summer in the anatomy lab dissecting the nervous system. She then completed her residency right here, at what was previously called the ECHN Family Medicine Residency, graduating in 2019. She chose to pursue a career in hospital medicine, staying at Manchester Memorial Hospital as a hospitalist once she graduated and worked there through the COVID pandemic. In 2024 she was promoted to be the Medical Director for the Hospitalist service. She is also the chair of several hospital committees and serves on the Medical Executive Committee. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children, and 2 dogs (huskies). She also enjoys crocheting.
